UMPIRES:
Last Saturday it was the AFL Community Umpiring Round with all clubs in the AFL Barwon Region highlighting the benefits of umpiring. Umpiring is an important part of our game and did you know:
1. There are 237 games in the region each week.
2. The minimum number of umpires required to cover all games is 1477.
3. Currently there are 511 registered umpires.
Clearly there is an umpire shortage – if you are considering becoming an umpire, there is plenty of information available at umpire.afl.
CDFNL 50 YEARS OF NETBALL:
On Saturday 4th June we invite all present and past netballers, coaches and umpires to come along an celebrate netball being a part of the CDFNL for 50 years. Bring along your memorabilia and photos to share with everyone. There will be drinks and nibbles for all past players, coaches and umpires from 1pm. We are planning to capture the day with a drone photo (courtesy of Amber and Great Ocean Photographay) after the A Grade game and ask all present players (from U13 to A Grade) to gather on the Court after the A Grade game for this.
